Stable Services

The stabling at Mill Stone is divided among three closely-arranged barns. The stall size varies from 12' x 14' to 10' x 12'. All stalls have rubber mats. Weather permitting, horses are turned out alone or in pairs six days per week.

All Mill Stone horses are maintained in a show-ready condition. Mill Stone staff offers trimming, bathing, mane pulling and full-body clipping at ala carte pricing. Mill Stone staff is always available and willing to teach these activities to customers so that they may maintain their own horse.

Mill Stone offers a complete laundry service. This includes the laundering of all horse-related items, including winter blankets.

Lessons

Mill Stone's philosophy is that, in order to succeed, all horses/riders need to be in an ongoing instructional program. Mill Stone's lesson program involves students taking two lessons per week. These lessons are taught in a private or semi-private (two to four students) setting and are customized to educate the rider and challenge their abilities to improve their weaknesses. Students without horses can take lessons on one of Mill Stone's quality lesson horses.

Training

Mill Stone believes that, like riders, all horses are individuals. Depending on the needs of the horse, training can range from full training board to training on a per-ride basis. As such, each horse has a specific training program designed to meet the needs of that horse. Full training board includes working the horse four to five times per week. Horses in this program are groomed daily and kept trimmed and bathed when needed.

Showing

Mill Stone is a show quality program. Our endeavor is to direct all horses/riders to the show ring to test their skills in a different venue. Lessons are homework; showing is the test of that homework. Mill Stone's show services include the following: shipping (we have both a three-horse trailer and a six-horse van), grooming, coaching, and riding or showing your horse.
